Bumrungrad International Hospital

Bumrungrad, pronounced Bahm-roong-raht, is a Thai word meaning "care for the people". It is an internationally accredited, multi-specialty hospital located in Bangkok, Thailand. Founded in 1980, today it is the largest private hospital in Southeast Asia with over 30 specialty centres. Bumrungrad International provides state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic and intensive care facilities. Since opening, the medical centre has served over 400,000 international patients from 190 different countries around the world.

Bumrungrad was the first Asian hospital to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the international organization that reviews and accredits American hospitals. The JCI checklist includes over 350 standards for everything from surgical hygiene to credential checks for medical staff. They received special distinction awards for their heart and stroke programs.
